In contrast to the latter, this new edition has photos of many shells. A considerable number of new species are introduced here. Peitaiho (Beidaihe) is situated in northeastern China; someone has written the coordinates 34º49' degrees north and 119º28' east in the top margin of p. 1. Although chiefly a cold-water fauna, there are several subtropical elements, for instance some Terebridae. Inscribed and dated on the front cover by co-author Sohtsu Gee King; a dedication to the British shell-collector Hugh McClelland (1864-1943). Front wrappers with a few damp spots, otherwise a good, clean copy. Rare.
