197411-10-2024-04
From Last Gasp Comics:

This 15" by 21" jigsaw puzzle features a full-color Cheech Wizard poster created specially for this puzzle by artist Vaugh Bode who attaches a special mysticism to jigsaw puzzles.

From the box cover: "Once upon a time at 2:30 in the afternoon there lives a great magickal saint who wears a big hat and goes by the handle: Cheech Wizard. The holy hieroglypic lined star spangled fedora is beloved and blessed of all things cartoony. Thus speaketh the management: Dwell on the tao-toon truths of the high drawn hat as you sluck on in your journey to the laughing light."

Couldn't have put it better myself. I bought this very puzzle when I was a 22 50 years ago. Bode' was an artist that I admired. Sadly he died to soon. But then most of us do.

This box has been knocked around a bit and has two damaged corners. As far as I know all of the pieces are here and and in good condition.

A piece of 70s nostalgia or just cool art. Biblio does not have jigsaw puzzles as a catagory so I have listed it under posters as the box says 'Giant Poster'. Bode' was a comix artist and writer. He was a fixture of National Lampoon's early days.
International Polygonics, The underground jigsaw puzzle
