Ecken und Kanten bestoßen Rückenkanten teilweise mit kleinen Läsuren innen teilweise stockfleckig aber wenig gelesen teils unaufgeschnitten im Ganzen ordentlich erhaltene Exemplare. Sowohl Außen wie Innen ein dekoratives und repräsentatives Werk das zu Lebzeiten Buffons_als "Histoire Naturelle" herausgegeben wurde. Der Widerspruch zwischen der Datierung des Vorworts 1855 und der Titelei des ersten Bandes 1853 der einzigen mit einer Jahresangabe war von uns nicht aufzuklären. Ein Hinweis auf eine zweite Auflage ist nicht zu finden möglicherweise handelt es sich aber um eine Titelauflage. - Nissen ZBI 704. Marbled edges and endpapers some light foxing and offsetting from many of the plates contents otherwise clean and tight throughout no inscriptions or ownership marks all internal bindings are tight full leather binding gilt-decorated spines 16 boards are detached and most of the other spine joints are weak and cracking boards slightly rubbed spines worn in places with some fraying at spine ends and lacking 2 upper and one lower spine title labels. Fair condition . Printed for T. Cadell and W. Davies, London, 1812, hardcover
