An original and accomplished C. late eighteenth century original watercolour drawing probably from a book or botanical register the title and initials are in manuscript with the reference "Tab. 391" all in a contemporary hand. Tragacantha massiliensis was first published in 1768 but was published as Astragalus massiliensis in 1783. A European and North African species. The picture is in very good condition the paper a litte tanned and marked measures 36.5 x 23cm. Please contact us for additional information. 0. unknown

A widespread European species that has become naturalised elsewhere known commonly in England as the Common Stork's Bill. The picture is in very good condition the paper a little tanned and marked measures 36.5 x 23cm a repaired tear to the bottom right corner - not affecting image or lettering. Quarto 18 pages lithographed stone wrappers rear cover detached <br/><br/>Volume containing miscellaneous uncredited poems and brief stories with corresponding unsigned illustrations on facing pages. Includes a six-page illustrated version of "The Three Little Pigs". The covers include spaces for the names of commercial enterprises generally department stores or the like to whom the book was supplied for use as a promotional gift. The cover and inside pages contain advertisements various Aurora Illinois businesses such as Wilcox & Gilbert dress goods at River Street and Downer Place. With full-page ad for T. Kingsford & Son's "Oswego NY " starches. Records indicate that the title "Our picture book" was used by Sunshine Publishing Co. for volumes of varying content and number of pages. NOTE: the rear cover shows Kate Greenaway-esque children at play on a swing. Sunshine Publishing Co. unknown
