Il volume comprende, con numerazione continua le “Prose” divise in due parti (“Discorsi degli animali” e “Delle bellezze delle donne”, quest’ultimo con frontespizio interno); poi un altro frontespizio precede i “Ragionamenti di M. Agnolo...” con numerazione propria. Buon esemplare con le due marche editoriali alla fine dei testi, non presenti in tutte le copie. I “Ragionamenti” comprendono otto novelle e il “Discacciamento delle nuove lettere” (notevole testo, in cui Firenzuola respinge la proposta di riforma ortografica del Trissino). A fine copy with the two editorial marks at the end of texts.

Book is in excellent condition in heavy weave dark red cloth with gilt print and cover and spine with romanesque drawing on cover and gilt top page ends. Handsome book. Corners are lightly bumped, light scuffing to covers. Binding is solid and square, exterior shows no other blemishes, text/interior is clean and free of marking of any kind. 372 pages with 112 ilustrations throughout in b&w with prints and photos. Not a cheap knock-off.

Hardcover, very good condition. Beautifully bound in full red Morocco by German binder Zaehnsdorf. Exquisite gilt tooling on the inner edges of the boards with silk pastedowns and end papers. Raised bands and gilt lettering to the spine. There is some minor wear to the corners and spine ends with a rubbed patch to front of the spine head and edges. Some minor marks to the rear board and slightly sunned spine. Internally there is some foxing to the first few front and rear pages but none to the text and some leaching of the red from the silk FEP to the reverse page. Previous owner's bookplate on the front pastedown (evidently a stag hunter from the design!). Includes a fold out map of Exmoor. The text is bright and clear throughout. DP Used
