This is an opportunity to acquire a piece of Ann Le Bas' work from her estate and personnal studio collection. Exhibited at the Royal Society of Print makers in 2019. Bibliography : Rachel Ann Le Bas 1923-2020 Member of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers elected 1960 now known as the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers RE. Le Bas studied under Middleton Todd Henry Wilkinson and Rodney Burn at the London Art School. Elected to the New English Art Club in 1972. In 1969 she was elected to the Art Workers Guild and from 1995-1999 was Master of the Somerset Guild of Craftsmen. Le Bas' was an exhibitor for many years at the Royal Academy and her work is found internationally and at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum London and Ashmolean Oxford. Artist's biography: Ann Smith was a goldsmith by trade a highly skilled artisan working out of Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds but with a passion for botanical illustration. She was a member of various botanical art societies; she exhibited at the Royal Horticultural Society RHS Botanical Art exhibitions held in The Lindley Hall London; for the 2004 exhibition she prepared a mixed collection of botanical works including studies of Romneya coulteri and Papaver orientalis 'Beauty of Livermere' in a later exhibition she presented a themed collection featuring various Meconopsis blue popy species and cultivars. Ann Smith was an accomplished botanical artist who painted with great fidelity her plants morphologically accurate and finely detailed but her paintings are always well composed and perhaps it is this her strong sense of composition that is her greatest quality.
