Story begins when Spunky the Shetland Pony is born in the Shetland Islands. He is sold to work in a coal mine then sent to America as a circus pony. He was known for his series of satiric lithographs including "Les Métamorphoses du jour" and the "Voyage pour l'éternité." From 1830 until 1835 he was one of the main contributors to "La Caricature" and "Le Charivari." Later he moved from litography to wood-engraving. Chez MM.
