A very early original color panorama drawing of the New York Zoological Park now the Bronx Zoo. The panorama was drawn by William Adickes and was published by E. Byron Bayne in 1913. It illustrates the overall layout of the park and many of its prominent structures Measures 15 x 27 inches and folds neatly into its original 9 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch card stock folder. There are many modern reproductions of this panorama on the market however this is the original 1913 printing NOT a recent reprint. It is over 100 years old and is still in very good condition. The League operated a free hospital and dispensary at 350 Lafayette Street New York which in 1920 handled ca. 9500 cases and surgeries on dogs cats horses and "miscellaneous." This is a report on their activities in 1920 balance sheet list of members many society folks here many local ads. Besides the hospital the League promoted or funded watering stations the protection of birds and small animals humane education for children dog and cat brigades which went around with collection boxes etc. Scarce.
