179342029Worcester Massachusetts: Isaiah Thomas for the Author 1793. 24pp. Disbound and lightly foxed. Good plus. With ownership signature of Joseph Goffe on May 19 1793 from Sutton.

This is a scarce Isaiah Thomas imprint. ESTC locates two copies at AAS and one each at Harvard JCB NYPL and the Library of Congress.
Waters was born and died in Sutton Worcester County. According to Find a Grave he was a "Revolutionary War Veteran" serving as "Private in Capt. Andrew Elliot's company Col. Jonathan Holman's regiment that marched on September 26 1777 to reinforce the Northern Army in the battle at Saratoga NY."
The Sutton Historical Society wrote about Waters: "Samuel lived what appeared to be quite an eventful and colorful life which included operating a tavern serving time in debtor's prison the result of his participation in a illconceived real estate investment and serving as an Elder with the First Baptist Church of West Sutton during the latter part of his life. . . Artifacts from the Samuel Waters Tavern have made their way to locations as far as
Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia. The Samuel Waters Tavern has a colorful history and if it could talk one could only imagine the long and interesting litany of stories it would tell."
Evans 26434. ESTC 25992. 9788532531469ROCCO. new. Londres segunda metade do sculo XIX.
