As the tale unfolds adventures anecdotes travels romance joys and sorrows grip the heart. The author relates how his boyhood sweetheart who became his wife inspired him to give up a prosperous business to study medicine; how years later together they overcame a tragedy to his wife who suffered a stroke and because of his medical training with constant care and treatment she made an excellent recovery. The text describes many interesting patients whom the author has treated in his practice; and the changes and trends in medicine and attitudes during the past fifty-three years. .
