A journal of Darwin's research into the natural history and geology of different countries explored during the almost five year round the world voyage of H.M.S. Beagle. This voyage took place under Captain Robert FitzRoy an English officer of the Royal Navy politician and scientist who served as the second governor of New Zealand and achieved lasting fame as the captain for this famous voyage. Darwin spent most of that time on land investigating geology and making natural history collections keeping careful notes of his observations and theoretical speculations while HMS Beagle surveyed and charted coasts. Written by Charles Robert Darwin an English naturalist geologist and biologist widely known for his contributions to evolutionary biology. Bound in full calf. Externally smart with rubbing to the extremities and the odd small mark to the boards. Internally firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot.
