br. Religiosi o atei, tutti percepiamo la gravità dell'immane catastrofe ecologica che incombe su di noi. Qual è una delle possibili risposte? Nel giugno 2015, Papa Francesco ha pubblicato la sua seconda enciclica dal titolo emblematico Laudato si' che rievoca la preghiera del Poverello di Assisi. Essa è un invito diretto alla cura della casa comune, dove si richiama con urgenza "ogni persona che vive su questo pianeta" ad avviare un dialogo ed iniziare a trasformare i cuori e le comunità per fermare il riscaldamento del pianeta e ridurre le emissioni di gas a effetto serra al fine di combattere la crisi climatica. Ora è il momento di agire. L'impegno per la Laudato si' è una campagna internazionale del Movimento cattolico mondiale per il clima (GCCM) e delle sue organizzazioni per sensibilizzare riguardo al messaggio della Laudato si' e incoraggiare la Comunità Cattolica ad agire con l'urgenza imposta dalla presente e reale crisi climatica.

Le ultime catastrofi naturali, l'innalzamento della temperatura, la deforestazione amazzonica, l'avanzata del deserto nel Sahel... tutto ciò rende evidente l'aggravarsi dell'immane sciagura che sta colpendo il Creato e che incombe su tutta l'umanità. Non possiamo girarci dall'altra parte e far finta di nulla. La crisi ci raggiungerà comunque. Nella prima edizione di Vivi Laudato si', veniva evidenziata la risposta potente arrivata con la pubblicazione della seconda enciclica di papa Francesco, dal titolo emblematico - appunto Laudato si' - che, rievocando l'invocazione del Poverello di Assisi indirizzava un invito universale all'impegno nella cura della casa comune. Questa seconda edizione dà conto del cammino fatto finora: ognuno ha la sua responsabilità nel trasformare sé stesso, la sua comunità e la propria società per un maggior rispetto per il Creato, sia nella politica che nell'economia, nella comunicazione e nella scienza. Il mondo cattolico è in prima linea in questa operazione salvifica.

br. Il testo intende offrire una panoramica su cinture di verde periurbano interessate da un maggiore o minore grado di realizzazione. L'ambito di applicazione è soprattutto l'Europa, con esemplificazioni note e meno note di cui si presentano emanazioni normative, critiche e accoglimenti pratici del modello di riferimento. Di questi ultimi sono riportate immagini e descrizioni atte a comprendere l'effettiva realizzazione e l'efficacia di ogni singola green belt. Più in particolare si esamina il caso italiano, inserendolo in un più esteso riferimento al verde urbano da un lato e alle reti ecologiche regionali dall'altro. Comparazioni vengono effettuate tra progettualità messe in atto in areali diversi allo scopo di enucleare regolarità di comportamento e più facilmente individuare le soluzioni vincenti, atte a dimostrare l'utilità di uno strumento urbanistico talora troppo astrattamente considerato.
