Mundo a Detroit area contactee associated with the orbit of George Adamski produced an extensive body of metaphysical and ufological material through her Flying Saucer Information Center Emergency Press and other imprints. <br /> <br /> These two publications issued several years apart show Mundo's expanding interest and her wider circulation among flying saucer and esoteric research circles. The Father's Plan and Flying Saucers is a corrected updated and self-published version of Flying Saucers and the Father's Plan which was edited and published by Gray Barker at his Saucerian Publications in 1963.<br /> <br /> Though OCLC shows 7 holdings for the 1963 edition we find no mention of this revised edition likely issued a couple years later. Album oblong grand format de 35 x 25 cm pour 59 pp. Marques de deux anciens propriétaires en début de livre, une carte collée à la première garde blanche et une discrète signature à la plume sur la page de titre, de 1911 à Rio de Janeiro. 80 figures (photos et schémas) dans le texte, deux planches en couleurs avec plusieurs couches dépliables qui présentent le fonctionnement des sous-marins et des submersibles en coupes transversales détaillées. 15 chapitres, texte sur deux colonnes, richement illustré et expliqué. Reliure cartonnée d'origine présentant des traces d'usure sur les bords et les coins. Petite fente au dos. Intérieur légèrement jauni, mais parfaitement lisible ; planches intérieures intactes, en couleurs, complètes et détachables. Petite déchirure en marge p. 12 sans perte. Ce livre présente le fonctionnement mécanique, structurel et physique des sous-marins et des submersibles à l'aube du XXe siècle, un moment crucial des révolutions technologiques navales précédant la Première Guerre mondiale. L'auteur, l'ingénieur Fernand Forest, a remporté le concours de torpilleur sous-marin de la Marine nationale en 1896. Il retrace ici l'histoire des inventions navales submersibles, leur évolution technique, leur stabilité, leurs moteurs, armements, hélices, aménagements intérieurs, mécanismes d'immersion et systèmes de ballast. Il présente aussi un tableau comparatif des modèles lancés dans les arsenaux français entre 1910 et 1911 (Cherbourg, Toulon, Rochefort), période durant laquelle la France rivalisait avec l'Allemagne et l'Angleterre pour la suprématie technologique dans le domaine sous-marinier. La richesse didactique des deux planches détachables grand format, en polychromie d'origine, constitue l'un des atouts majeurs de cette édition : il s'agit d'un exemplaire complet rare, car la plupart des exemplaires disponibles sur le marché des livres anciens ont perdu, au fil des décennies, précisément ces planches, faciles à détacher et souvent séparées du volume.
