RARE.An early work to be illustrated with actual photographs. A record of the plant-related exhibits of the Fifth World Exhibition and the first in the German-speaking world. The images here concentrate on the Japanese Garden. As early as June 8 1872 the construction progress on the site was documented photographically. The images were offered for sale in a separate pavilion. The entire image production comprised around 2200 images. These were published in 1874 in the "General Catalog of Photographic Products of the Vienna Photographers' Association for the World Exhibition 1873".
