Text entirely in French. Overall very good. Exceedingly rare in commerce in this edition and in such lovely condition.

Corresponds to OCLC #1036120674 and #1007344466 indicating only a handful of Canadian institutional holdings. At time of cataloguing this edition does not appear amongst the holdings at Guelph University Archives & Special Collections: Cookbook Collection or McGill. See Drivers' Culinary Landmarks Citation No. Q79.4 p. 138 wherein she states: "The French-language edition is not a straight translation of the English edition. The most obvious change is the new title - La Cuisinière Five Roses - meaning the Five Roses Cook - and a new design for the binding in an art-nouveau style. Instead of an image of a child stirring the contents of a bowl there is an image of a woman 'la Cuisinière reading this cookbook; the image is signed by the artist M.C. Perley. The design of the English-language edition can be described as 'cute'; the design of the French edition as sophisticated".
