81578N.p. n.d. Buffalo: 1968. Quarto 28cm. Mimeographed corner-stapled sheets printed in black on blue stock; 8pp. Slight toning at margins else Near Fine. Dated from context; published in spring or early summer 1968.

An important early document in the history of pro-cannabis activism in the United States. Aldrich organized the SUNYAB State University of New York at Buffalo chapter of LeMar a contraction for "Legalize Marijuana" in the spring of 1967 - it was the first campus LeMar chapter as well as one of the most influential organized with the direct input of Aldrich's friends Allen Ginsberg and John Sinclair founders of the New York and Detroit chapters respectively. Aldrich went on to become a co-editor with Ed Sanders of LeMar's iconic 'zine The Marijuana Review the first issue of which would appear in October 1968 just a few months after the current work. He would also become a founding member of the California-based cannabis legalization cooperative Amorphia with which LeMar merged in 1972.

In the current document Aldrich provides a detailed history of his efforts to establish a LeMar chapter on the SUNYAB campus beginning with his first encounter with Allen Ginsberg his later affiliation with the Buffalo outlaw motorcycle club The Road Vultures and the efforts sometimes comical of Buffalo's city officials to intervene in his activities. A fascinating document by a key figure in the movement filling in a period of barely recorded history between the founding of LeMar in 1964 and its expansion and merger with Amorphia at the end of the Sixties. Apparently unrecorded with no copy separately catalogued in OCLC and none traced in commerce. unknown

Editions originales.
