One of a series of wartime booklets issued through the Ministry of Information and designed both as mild propaganda pieces and commentaries on the progress of the war. This title was written anonymously by John Moore (later the author of the well-known 'Brensham' trilogy and many other works) largely to promote the RN's 'Y' Scheme for the pre-entry training of young men and women.
