1951570SB<p>A trilogy illustrated with wood-engravings by Julie Neild. This volume has all three books: "Lark Rise" "Over to Candleford" and "Candleford Green". An Introduction by H. J. Massingham. The paper is somewhat yellowed but the wood-engravings at the beginning of each chapter stand out well. The dust-jacket is somewhat browned and is price-clipped and has two or three short taped repairs. Candleford Green: fourth impression 1944 fine with no inscriptions no dust jacket. All three books are protected by clear removable covers. A harlequin but scarce set. Loosely inserted is a copy of a three-page typewritten document giving some insight into the author's life and times anonymous but written in a familiar style indicating that the writer probably new Flora Thompson. Bibliographic note: these three books were subsequently published as a single volume in 1945 by Oxford University Press entitled "Lark Rise to Candleford" with wood engravings by Julie Neild.
