The cloth on the spines is lightly sunned there is edge wear to the cloth at the top of spine of volume 2 the text and plates are very bright and clean with no signs of use; a tight and clean copy in near fine condition. Pp. xi 236 7 full page black-and-white photo-plates 89 text-figures; pp. xi 359 6 full page black-and-white photo-plates 79 text-figures. Publisher's original maroon cloth lettered in gilt on the spine and with gilt motif of the British Museum seal on the front cover front and rear covers with borders ruled in blind sm 4to. A detailed monograph on the octopus and its relatives. There is a single library blind stamp on the bottom outer corner of each title page as well as a small white call number on the spine; aside from these minimal markings this volume shows no signs of use - a beautiful copy.
