In questa equazione dal sapore paradigmatico, c'è il perimetro di questo lavoro e probabilmente il DNA di quel Kolossal chiamato "Società dell'immagine". È l'immagine l'oggetto di studio di questo saggio e la variabile "immateriale" capace di riscrivere, ininterrottamente, la geografia fisica e mentale della società contemporanea. Economia, politica, merci, informazione, tutto viene fagocitato da tale forza quasi divina. Alla Storia e alla sua narrazione, sembra si sia sostituito il Quotidiano e il suo spettacolo. L'autore attraversa gli strumenti, e le suggestioni, della sociologia dell'immaginario e mette a fuoco i tre "cavalli di Troia", i Media, la Metropoli e la Moda, che hanno prima cullato e poi irradiato tale processo apparentemente irreversibile. Con uno sguardo foucaultiano, analizza le ricadute di questo processo nella psiche del cittadino metropolitano e lo fa osservando come questo si manifesta nelle sue due radicalizzazioni: i Barboni e i Supereroi. I soggetti totalmente esclusi dai poteri dell'immagine e quelli composti di sole immagini, di solo sogno. I due apartheid speculari dentro i quali i più accaniti abitanti della metropoli sono costretti somigliano molto da vicino a un "Quotidiano Totale" senza possibilità di uscita. Dentro tale "spettacolo" la nostra posizione ricorda tanto quella dell'ostaggio: è obbligatorio sognare, è (quasi) impossibile fuggire.

Women’s empowerment is a comparatively new concept in the domain of women’s development. It is being felt increasingly the women’s subordination and exploitation is a result of their powerlessness in patriarchal society- hence the need for empowerment. Empowerment is a complex term and may be measured in terms of women’s freedom to shape their lives, their control over resources, their access to basic facilities, their level of political participation, their ability to take their own decisions and let them accepted by family and society and their ability to remove hindrances in their path to progress.
