Very Good Turkish, Ottoman (1500-1928) Modern cloth bdg. Cr. 8vo. (20 x 14 cm). In Ottoman script. [2], 181 p. Ali Riza Ardahani, the son of Dervis Hamza Bey, a member of the Kayapasazades, one of the well-established families of Ardahan, was born in the Halilefendi District of Ardahan in 1848. He worked as a civil servant in cities or vilayats such as Ardahan, Erzurum, Yemen, and Hudeybe. Kayapasazâdes is a family that was settled in the region soon after the Ottoman conquest of Ardahan (1551) for the Turkification of the region. The Kayapasazâdeler, the most established family known after the Atabeks in the history of Ardahan, supported the Ottoman army under the chieftain of Lala Mustafa Pasha in 1578 and showed great benefits in the conquest of places up to Tbilisi. Kayapasazâdes educated many important statesmen in the Ottoman and Republic periods, served the state for centuries, and especially served Ardahan and its surroundings. The presence of the family in Ardahan continued until the first years of the Republic, and then they settled in metropolitan cities, especially Istanbul. Kayapasazâdes took the surname "Ardahan" with the Surname Law enacted in 1934. The author continued his work, which he started with "Basmalah", with a prosaic prayer (Dua) and naat (praise to the Prophet), and then "It is necessary to look for the most appropriate form of 'Ilm-i Münazara'" [i.e. The method of discussion]. Ardahanî praised the sultan of his time, writing that he was encouraged by the support he gave to the education by Sultan Abdulhamid. Mi'yârü'l-münâzara has drawn a framework on which evidence is acceptable and which are not appropriate, based on questions and answers of those discussed in a debate. Özege 13810.; TBTK 3803. First and Only Edition.
Very Good Turkish, Ottoman (1500-1928) Original wrappers. Roy. 8vo. (23 x 16 cm). In Ottoman script (Old Turkish with Arabic letters). 94 p., richly illustrated. The first and only edition of this rare Turkish illustrated book including the lecture notes for the Turkish military schools, on the principles of establishing a factory and industrialization, given by Kagitçi, who was the pioneer of the Ottoman / Turkish paper industry, who defended the thesis that a national paper industry should be established in Turkey and that there are all kinds of possibilities to achieve this in the period, who served as an "Industry Teacher" in the Military Academy Command High School of Materials between 1927-1934. This is one of the first works on its field in the rising early Republican Turkey in the period, including Ahmet Hamdi's book "Fabrikacilik" [i.e. Fabrication] published in 1919, and supporting the industrial breakthrough that was initiated after the proclamation of the Republic. Kagitçi went to Germany to study papermaking with the permission of the institution he worked for. He worked in the pulp and paper mills of Hannoversche Papierfabriken Alfeld-Gronau Company in Germany at the end of 1925. He went to France in 1926 and served as a worker in the pulp, paper, and cardboard factories of Papeteries de France. After learning the watermark technique in Lyon and the pulp deposition techniques in Metz, from the source and by practice, he enrolled in the Institute of Papermaking, affiliated with the Faculty of Science of the University of Grenoble. Mehmed Ali Bey, who completed his education at the institute with first place in 1927, returned to Turkey with the title of "Paper Engineer". The projects of a factory that will produce paper, cardboard, packaging paper, newsprint and cigarette paper in Turkey were prepared under his management. Özege 5356.; Not in OCLC.

In Turkish (Modern). 4 books set: (8 p.; 8 p.; 8 p.; 8 p.), richly color ills. Probably all books of the set published in 1964 altogether. First and only edition of this extremely rare set published for propaganda on "an ideal women's image" in the Republican Turkey period after the 1960 Coup d'Etat. In addition to the early period posters and brochures printed for the purpose of propaganda for women to join the defense ranks during the War of Independence, (1919-1922), the Ministry of Education continued to publish books to determine the social roles of Turkish women after the proclamation of the Republic. In the Republican era, the propaganda style on women was carried out with such books titled "How to raise children, How to be a good housewife, etc.". This set is one of the book sets including four books titled i.e. Children of Fatma, Birth preparation of Fatma, When Fatma's child was born, and How Fatma feeds her child. "Fatma" character symbolizes in this book series the idealized Turkish woman according to the social norms of that period. Not in OCLC., Not in the Turkish National Library.
