Nel testo introduttivo si legge, tra l'altro: Le immagini che compongono questa serie fotografica di Marialba Russo, scattate nell’ambito di un intenso lavoro portato avanti per alcuni anni in Campania tra il 1975 e il 1980, superano con forza l’idea di una fotografia esclusivamente autoreferenziale o autobiografica, nonostante anche questi elementi vi rientrino come una delle loro caratteristiche. Si assiste infatti al farsi immagine di una particolare “mescla” programmatica e visiva che vede convergere antropologia culturale e progetto artistico, sguardo narrativo partecipe e distacco documentario, evidenziando quei nessi sedimentati e stratificati nella memoria collettiva profonda quanto inconsapevole che si potrebbero ben definire “dimenticati a memoria”.
