Contains five of Franklin's facetious letters including one to Dr. Priestley one to the Royal Academy of Brussels and the infamous "Advising a Young Man as to the Selection of a Mistress." N.B. The original ms. of this once belonged to Charles F. Gunther of Chicago. This edition is not cited by the introduction to this letter in vol. 3 of THE PAPERS OF BENJAMIN FRANKLIN. However the final two letters may be even saucier as indicated by the fact that they appear here in their original French tongue without benefit of translation. Scarce.
