19067919Alameda California: not published 1906. Very good . One rather large photograph measuring about 8.5" x 6.5" laid onto a mount with a 2" border. Photograph is in excellent condition showing just a few hair-thick stretches while the mount shows creasing and rousing at each corner with a larger chip at the bottom right. The photograph depicts a private home in Alameda California. Though a specific address is not provided we can read the number 1335 on the facade which should be able to help an able sleuth determine the precise location and if the house still stands. Regardless there is significant family information neatly inked to the verso To wit: "Our home in Alameda California. Picture taken about 1906 or 1907. Rented from Mr. MacCauley who owned both houses in the picture. James A. Milliff - father; Ellen E. Green Milliff - mother; Eugene A. Milliff - son; Picture given to me by March 17 1962 by Mother Milliff who was 85." A nicely-sized and well-composed image of a private home near San Francisco around the time of the infamous earthquake. [not published] unknown
