Realizing the importance of intangible cultural heritages of India and their documentation, Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya has undertaken the task of preparing selective bibliographies on various aspects of intangible cultural heritages to facilitate scholars and researchers in their pursuit of knowledge. It is proposed to be a multi-volume exercise due to enormous literature available on the subject. Volume II incorporates ethno-medical practices in India. Subsequent volumes on other aspects of intangible cultural heritage of India would follow these volumes soon. There was a time in the past, when it was possible to a scholar to keep himself up to date and well informed on current literature in his field of interest. But due to the increase in the amount of literature available, it has become more and more difficult for him to do so. But for bibliography even a scholar faced with such a vast amount of literature would lose his way, wasting much time before he is able to read even a part of what he is required to study. Much has been written on the Ethno-medicines, and the related fields and the references are many and distributed over numerous journals, monographs, memoirs, Internet database and other publications that are not easily accessible to research workers and the seekers of information. Keeping in view these facts, it has been considered useful to compile a bibliography available. This bibliography on ‘Intangible cultural heritage of India: a selected bibliography. Vol. II: Ethno-medicines in India aimed at covering scholarly literature on concerned and related fields. We sincerely hope that this bibliography would be useful for Scientists, research scholars, Anthropologists, and other personnel related with this field. About The Author:- Profile of Prof. Kamal K. As Frank Murray discusses in Vitamin A and Beta-Carotene Are Miracle Workers, the two inexpensive vitaming can jump-start the immune system, thereby protecting us against HIV/AIDS, measles, malaria, cancer, diarrhea, blindness, and other life-threatening illnesses., , Like Vitamins D, E and K, Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin that is stored in the liveer, where it becomes a valuable resereve against deficiencies. Few reports in the literature show that it is harmful. Beta-Carotene is pro-vitamin A and is harmless., , Pregnant women should have their vitamin A intake, from foods and supplements, monitored by their doctor so as not to harm the fetus, whose liver is quite small. Children should also have their vitamin A intake evaluated. However, doctors can save children with measles with 100,000 to 200,000 IU of the vitamin inn two days., , As Richard A. Passwater, Ph.D., points out in the Foreword, gthe teachings of this book can save the lives of millions worldwide.h About The Author:- Frank Murray is a former editor of Better Nutrition, Great Life, and Let's Live (England) magazines, and is the author or coauthor of 52 books on health and nutrition. ABOUT THE BOOK:- This book has been written primarily for the medical students, medical officers and lawyers, especially those dealing with medico-legal problems. A Registered Medical Practitioner should have sufficient knowledge of laws & ethical aspects of Good Medical Practice, in order not to conflict with it during his/her professional practice. For that he/she ought to be familiar with various Acts, Rules & Regulations that are in force or else he/she may find himself/herself inadvertently contravening these & courting trouble & also amounting to professional misconduct attracting disciplinary action by the authorities. For that reason, provision of laws relating to medical practice in undergraduate/graduate curriculum should be seriously considered. Medical jurisprudence benefits immensely both the medical and the legal field of work. A better understanding and cooperation has resulted and has facilitated a smoother working of both disciplines.
