Two pharmacy woodblock advertisements printed in red ink on two sheets of Chinese paper 25 x 25.5cm and 23.5 x 24.5cm text in traditional Chinese characters partially overwritten with handwritten prescriptions written by hand in black ink. Edges worn with a little loss paper a little thin in places with some small holes but not affecting text printing a little light or blurred in one area of one of the sheets but overall good condition. The advertisement for the "Longevity Hall Traditional Pharmacy" lists some of the ailments that can be cured at this establishment; men's problems women's problems heart stomach problems coughing numbness in the limbs painful legs and so on. It also includes a diagram of a man inscribed with characters on his front and back. <br> <br>The advertisement "Bone-Setting Wonder Pill" also includes a front-on illustration of a man and lists mainly limb-related problems; injuries from falls fractures contusions sprains broken or twisted bones and so on. As the printing is overlaid with handwriting deciphering the text requires patience! . No publication details in English. unknown

In -4°, pp. (16), 205, (3 bb.), molti fregi xilografici nel testo e quattro tavole fuori testo incise su rame. Cartonato rustico coevo muto. Qualche carta arrossata, timbro al frontespizio, ottimo esemplare con barbe. Nato a Bologna nel 1635 il Trionfetti fu medico e professore di botanica a Roma; le polemiche col suo compatriota Marcello Malpighi, lo spinsero verso teorie estreme e a volte assurde ma “ha i suoi pregi, come quello di aver scoperto il ‘solanum tomentosum’ fino allora sconosciuto, concluse interessanti osservazioni sulle piante imperfette [e] sulla degenerazione della specie” (Amati, pp. 234-5). Questa dissertazione è un ampliamento con correzioni della sua opera “Observationes de ortu ac vegetatione plantarum...” pubblicata nel 1685, in cui si legge la più accesa polemica con Malpighi. Questa “Pars prior” è l’unica pubblicata. Born in Bologna, in 1635, Trionfetti was a doctor and professor of bothanics in Rome; this dissertation is a wider version of his “Observationes de ortu ac vegetatione plantarum…” published in 1685. This “pars prior” was the only one published.
