The Sport paradise of the continent."<br/><br/>The club had plans prepared by El Paso architects Trost & Trost for a clubhouse in Truth or Consequences formerly Hot Springs Sierra County New Mexico but the club seems to have had no existence beyond the captions of the romantic illustrations in this pamphlet. It was a scheme promoted by J. C. Harper sometime pool hall operator of Deming New Mexico who attempted to secure the consent of Governor Dillon of New Mexico through the offer of a position on the board. Harper was linked to a failed Kansas City bank.<br/><br/>Apparently unrecorded. unknown books

Seltener Jahrgang des ÖSV-Almanachs, hier im noch selteneren Originalumschlag mit Fotomontage unter Verwendung eines Fotos von Lothar Rübelt. – Inhalt: Das erste Jahrbuch des 1904 gegründeten Österreichischen Ski-Verbands erschien mit Unterbrechungen in nur 9 Jahrgängen zwischen 1927 und 1952 (1927, 1935-38, 1947-49 und 1952). In der Zeit austrofaschistischen Ständestaates wurde der Almanach in »Skileben in Österreich« (statt davor und danach »Skilauf«) unbenannt. Vorliegender 4. Band enthält u.a. einen preisgekrönten Entwurf für ein Skistadion von Architekt Hermann Kutschera (samt Abb. d. Modells), einen Artikel über die „Entwicklung des Abfahrtssports“ von Mithg. Franz Martin und einen weiteren Text von Mithg. Franz Hromatka über „Skifahren im Kaukasus“. Die in den Jahren 1935-38 forcierte Herausgabe eines aufwändigen gestalteten Almanachs für den Ski-Sport kann auch als Beleg für das Bestreben der Sportpolitik im Ständestaat gesehen werden, dem in den traditionell konservativ geprägten Bundesländern beheimateten Skisport im Vergleich zum damals populäreren Fußball, welcher für das »Rote Wien« stand und Weltgeltung besaß, mehr Bedeutung zu verschaffen. – Erhaltung: Umschlag stellenweise sehr gering berieben, schmutzfleckig und mit Knickspuren, an den Rändern minimale Läsuren, innen und im Schnitt stellenweise leicht stockfleckig, sonst solide erhalten. – Seltenheit: Im attraktiven originalen Schutzumschlag wie hier im Handel kaum auffindbar; gemäß KVK und OBV sind die 4 Jahrgänge des ÖSV-Almanachs aus der Zeit des Austrofaschismus in institutionellen Beständen des deutschsprachigen Raums zudem nur in drei vollständigen Exemplarsätzen nachzuweisen (Wien [UB, 1935-38, 2 Ex.], ÖNB) – Literatur: Czeike, Bd. 5 (1997) zit.
