He wrote several works including "Chasses et pêches de l'autre monde" Paris 1856 from which the 1861 edition was revised under this title. Neither of the two earlier editions however appears to have contained the fantastic and often haunting engravings by YAN DARGENT Bretagne 1824 - 1899 which animate this edition.<br/>A translation of this title and "Pêches dans l'Amérique du Nord" later appeared as "Shooting and fishing in the rivers prairies and backwoods of North America" L.
