Illustrated octavo pp xvi 389 a little age-toned the occasional blemish endpapers rather foxed and browned blue cloth with gilt decoration a little rubbed and scuffed the lower corner of the upper cover worn through the spine head pulled and slightly torn the binding leaning a little. With the bookplate of Barklie McCalmont who served as an officer in the 6th Foot but retired as a Captain in 1888. He was a reserve officer up until 1899 when he was appointed Commanding officer of the 5th Militia Battalion.
