The title is taken from the World War II "V for Victory". Illustrations include color plates inserts cut-outs and other movable parts. The first issue October 1942 has a green cover designed by Max Ernst and contributions by Claude Levi Strauss Wm. Carlos Williams Andre Masson and Robert Motherwell. Volume 2 and 3 is a double issue with a tan cover by Marcel Duchamp and a chicken wire insert on the back cover.
