Langdon Jr and inscribed to him by the author and sculpture Partridge: "A souvenir of our meeting in Washington and the night we spendt with Browning at Afterhouse in Norwood. In the hope that we three may meet again the sooner the better." Neat underlining throughout text perhaps Langdon's and two photos tipped into book boards a tad worn and soiled. Partridge 1861-1930 American sculpture and art schoalr was best known for the statue of Gen. Grant on horseback in Union Sq NYC. Browning was one Oscar Browning 1837-1923 a lecturer at Cambridge University Day Training College was a leading exponent of the training of teachers and as a Liberal contested unsuccessfully House of Common seats in Norwood among other distcricts.
