The chapters not only focus on commonly appreciated aspects of Saudi modernization such as the oil industry but also on issues such as girls' education youth welfare and the media. Arresting images include pictures of Saudi citizens in hospital on the sports field and in news studios. Many colour graphics and bar charts illustrate the financial allocations made to different ministries agricultural figures and even the number of students enrolled in vocational training centres. Small quarto. Original green leatherette over boards front cover and spine lettered in gilt. With 2 loose leaves handwritten in Arabic. Minor soiling to boards spine and fore edge bumped a touch of rubbing to gilt contents fresh and bright. A very good copy. hardcover

In any case it represents the most comprehensive collection of issues that we have traced over a period of twenty-five years of Ottoman state publications many of which are difficult to assemble. The collection essentially consists of official reports most of which were prepared by the two ambassadors <strong>Fakhr al-Din Rûm Bey Oğlu</strong> and <strong>Muhammad Nâbi</strong>.
