Occasional Illustrations in the text. Cover price 15 cents. A very good copy. Part 1 covers boxing; Part 2 covers wrestling. Owen Swift 1814 9 June 1879 was a British bare-knuckle prize fighter who killed three men in boxing bouts. The death of "Brighton Bill" in one particularly savage 85-round bout in 1838 and Swift's subsequent conviction for manslaughter led to the adoption of the London Prize Ring Rules He was regarded as one of the most brilliant fighters of his day losing only twice in his storied career. Originally printed in 1853 this appears to be an 1890s re-issue. Teaches the art of boxing and correct pugilistic attitudes without a master. Further photographs available upon request. £210. unknown

Unclipped jacket with a $3.95 price point is in good conly condition. Much scuffing to the panels and a 2" tear at the top of the rear panel. White rear panel is browned and soiled short chips at the head and heel of the spine panel. 116 pp. some black and white photos at center.
