1940215031940. Archive of three photographs from the 1930s-1940s captures three African American boxers. One photo shows two boxers the "Gold Dust Twins" in action in the ring while another shows "Black Jack Lorenzo Pack" posing with fists clenched in the ring. Black and white silver gelatin photographs measuring 10" x 8". The first photograph features two muscular African American boxers standing side by side in a boxing ring both wearing classic boxing trunks and laced-up gloves. Their expressions are serious reflecting the intensity of their profession. A handwritten inscription on the back identifies them as the "Gold Dust Twins." This moniker was historically used to describe dynamic duos however specific information about African American boxers using this nickname in the 1940s is unclear. Very good condition overall. unknown
