Luigi, fermamente voluto e progettato dal GMA, Governo Militare Alleato, che amministrava la città di Trieste nel dopoguerra, nel periodo che va dal 45 al 54,a solo uso e consumo esclusivo del Rugby, per servizio alla grande diffusione che questa disciplina aveva conseguito in quel periodo. Oltre alla squadra internazionale GMA polizia civile, che partecipava al torneo tra basi Nato, nella massima serie si esibiva La Giovinezza e L'Edera, nella divisione successiva L'Asso di Picche e il Piave. Il campo fu progettato con tutti gli accorgimenti tecnologici dell'epoca, ma la sua corretta conservazione fu disattesa dalle nostre amministrazioni, riducendolo in condizioni penose. È tristemente ricordato tra tutte le squadre che hanno avuto la ventura di disputare un incontro nella nostra città. La serie di racconti vuole essere un simpatico ricordo per tutti quelli che sono stati involontariamente attori di epiche imprese.
