First edition of this dealer’s brochure introducing the Ford Model 40 suspension which supported the more powerful Ford 221 cubic inch V-8 sporting 85 horsepower and Stromberg 2-barrel carburetor but still drew upon Henry Ford’s penny pinching design stretching back to the Model T underneath. The outer ends of the leaf springs were clamped to a solid axle and the car wobbles around fixed to the apex at the center which was addressed by using arms such as the Panhard Rod to stabilize the much faster car. First edition of this scarce travel brochure touting the advantages of U.S. tourists to bring their own cars and travel over the Carretera Central which ran the entire length of the Island from Pinar del Rio to Santiago de Cuba over 700 miles. The highway construction launched in may 1927 and when finished proved very popular as a means to see the island.
