1969100831<p>Richmond Kentucky August 23 1969. 1969. Fine. - Over 210 words penned on two sheets of her personal 10-1/2 inch high by 7-1/4 inch wide stationery. The author of "Lincoln: Unforgettable American" writes to the executive editor of American Artist Magazine requesting permission to quote some information from an article by Jam sic E. Francis published in the January 1960 issue of the periodical "I am engaged in a research project on Abraham Lincoln. which includes sculptures of Lincoln. I have written an article on the colossal Lincoln bust by Robert I. Russin near Laramie Wyoming and Mr. Russin called my attention to an issue of your magazine." She goes on to request permission to use some information from the "article by Jamsic E. Francis titled 'Robert I. Russin Wyoming Sculptor'." and quotes the relevant passages. Signed in full "Mabel Kundel". The letter is annotated in red ink at the bottom of the first page stating that permission was granted. Stapled at top left and folded for mailing. Fine.</p><p>Mabel Kundel is the author of the unusual biography & genealogy "Abraham Lincoln: Unforgettable American" which includes an extensive study of Lincoln statues and shrines.</p> Richmond, Kentucky, August 23, 1969.
