Norman Luxton made history crossing the Pacific in the Indian dugout canoe Tilikum, went on to found the Banff newspaper, Crag and Canyon, and devoted the rest of his life to developing Banff as a mountain playground and to assisting the Indians. Un fiume particolare e bellissimo da seguire in bici o in canoa: l'itinerario della Livenza è un percorso ideale per un viaggio tra Veneto e Friuli Venezia Giulia della durata di un weekend. La Livenza infatti, navigabile per quasi tutti i suoi oltre 100 km di corso, è un fiume fuori dall'ordinario che comincia con sorgenti limpidissime (il Gorgazzo, la Santissima), prosegue lungo anse vivaci e piacevoli, e continua con un corso rettilineo verso il mare Adriatico. Nel suo percorso bagna direttamente o attraverso i suoi affluenti, in primis Noncello e Meduna, città e borghi di pregio, come Pordenone, Portobuffolé, Sacile, Motta di Livenza, San Stino di Livenza, Caorle, e attraversa un territorio di notevole interesse dal punto di vista naturalistico. A rendere ancora più piacevole la navigazione o la pedalata ci penseranno i ristoranti e l'ospitalità alberghi e agriturismi, numerosi lungo tutto il percorso. La guida propone due sezioni: una dedicata al percorso ciclabile (suddivisa in due itinerari: da Pordenone a Caorle lungo la sinistra orografica e da Caorle alle sorgenti lungo la destra orografica della Livenza) e una dedicata al percorso navigabile; la guida, inoltre, è arricchita da tutte le informazioni tecniche e turistiche e da una dettagliata cartografia in scala 1:50.000 personalizzata per il percorso in canoa o in bici. Con tracce GPS.
