195495973New York: Coverdale & Colpitts 1954. Paperback. Very Good. 54p. printed on one side plus 7 Exhibits consisting of two folding maps and seven folding tables/charts Softcover in cloth-backied wreapper. 28 cm. Some splitting on sides of backstrip. Waterstain on all leaves including the folding Exhibits in upper right corner; contents otherwise sound. . Laid in are 6 glossy black and white photos 28 x 21 cm. of trans-Hudson traffic and three similarly size glossy traffic charts. None appear to have been included in the report. The photos have taped slips generally on back identifying each photo. One slip credits that photo to Margaret Bourke White. Perhaps these photos and charts were prepared in connection with this joint study but not used in this report. Coverdale & Colpitts seems to have reagarded a 125th Street Trans-Hudson bridge as a key component in meeting future Trans-Hudson traffic demand. The 125th Street bridge never happened. 191834114Montreal: Southam Press Limited n.d. 1918. 1918. CANADA. First edition. 12 1/2" x 9 1/2" oblong quarto tied gold gilt stamped stiff wrappers with a mounted view of the bridge on the front cover 103 pp. illustrated from photographs diagrams and drawings. Many stage-by-stage photographic views of the bridge as it nears completion. An enormous engineering project for its day that took from 1910 until 1917 to complete. In 1907 the south half of the first bridge over the river collapsed killing 100 men. In 1910 work began again and were nearing completion when the suspended bridge span that was being hoisted into place fell into the river. The huge undertaking supports trains on two tracks. The over-sized stiff wrappers have a number of small closed tears along the extremities but the interior is clean and quite serviceable for an overall very good copy of a fascinating booklet.
