Issued for an intended production of the musical in New York in the 1974-75 season featuring Julie Harris the impending production created excitement being the first of his plays the French playwright Anouilh allowed to be set to music. Harris had co-starred in the non-musical version of the play with Edna Best and Eli Wallach. However the production with Julie Harris never came to fruition although the musical finally opened on February 7 1977 at Playwrights Horizons in New York City and ran for a grand total of two <br /> performances. Rare. OCLC appears to locate a small number of scripts for the non-musical version but no copies of the musical. This copy incldues all the lyrics but not the music.
