An expansion of an earlier one-act play Confessional Tennessee Williams' Small Craft Warnings centers on a motley group of people gathered in a seedy coastal bar in Southern California. The characters include a lusty beautician and her ne'er do well lover an alcoholic doctor washed-up screenwriter middle-aged short-order cook and of course the congenial bartender. The play premiered on April 2 1972 at the Off-Broadway Truck and Warehouse Theatre and later moved to the New Theatre on the upper East Side.
