A few old bibliographical notes about the work tipped onto the rear free endpaper. Very good. A detailed work prepared for the Tehuantepec Railroad Company of New Orleans concerning railroad and maritime communication between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans via the Isthmus of Tehauntepec. The beautiful lithographic plates by Sarony depict people scenes and buildings in Minatitlan Ishuatlan and other points in the region. Issued with text pages facing colored illustrations of empty rooms and with leaves with perforated edges with numbered illustrations of furnishings utensils and people to be cut out and arranged in each room. In this copy the cutouts have been glued in on the Hall Library Dining Room Kitchen Mother's Bedroom and Children's Bedroom. The Nursery is still empty and the matching page is present though detached. The images of the family have not been cut out and the perforated sheet is still attached. The family consists of father mother boy girl. cat dog and two servants -- one a white governess and the other "good old coloured cook." Ownership signatuer of Frances E.
