192713494London: The Nonesuch Press 1927. Limited Edition. Hardcover. Near fine. Quarto; 3 volumes complete as issued illustrated edited by Geoffrey Keynes. Offered with the companion volume. A very nice set in the publisher's marbled boards with vellum spines; mostly unopened and never read. Near fine with some corner wear to the front board only of the "Life" volume and milder corner wear generally. Very clean fresh and tight internally in all volumes with clean vellum spines showing only the gentlest dust-soiling. The three-volume set is number 655 of 1500 limited sets another 75 were on different paper and the "Life" volume is number 1127 of 1480 limited copies. In our opinion one of the great bargains of 20th-century fine press books; a wide-ranging beautiful production evocative of the poet's time and place. Though the "Life" volume was not issued with the set originally it was published just two years later in the same style and trim size in slightly different marbled boards and in our opinion ought to accompany the set.
