A book that explores sharks via encounters while on the Calypso Cousteau's famous research vessel. The book is co-authored with his son Philippe who carried the family mantle and distinguished himself as well in ocean conservation; the majority of the narrative actually seems to be by Philippe but shorter sections by Jacques-Yves are interspersed. Rich with color photos and stills from films that the Cousteau team made. Jacques-Yves Cousteau remains the most famous oceanographer and marine science popularizer in history. He was also the co-inventor of first SCUBA diving system. <br /> <br /> A small quarto blue cloth boards with silver lettering on spine. Near fine with a band of faint soiling to lower edge of boards light yellowing on the free endpapers from the dust jacket's flaps and some toning to the appendix pages which are different non-glossy paper than the rest of the book.
