Avec une herbe des champs (parce que Saint Joseph de Cupertino les aimait) gardée sous une page de papier Joseph des papeteries Martin. Déchirure au rhodoïd, dont un important au second plat, petit choc en tête, soie un peu insolée (comme presque toujours sur ce bel ouvrage).

Avec une "herbe des champs parce que Saint Joseph de Cupertino les aimait" contre la première garde. Le tout d'après une maquette d'Odette Ducarre. Légèrement insolé en bord, mais ce défaut est du plus heureux effet, la soie offrant ainsi un joli dégradé.

195667068New York: Simon & Schuster 1956. American edition. Hardcover. Very Good . Quarto 28 cm Bright yellow cloth over boards with a red ink stamped title on the backstrip. With trivial foxing to the cloth of the upper extremities and a couple of negligible spots on the front cover. The front free endpaper has a former owner's name in pen with the notation "March 30 1957 / Santa Fe New Mexico." In a very attractive dust jacket with subtle edgewear minor soiling to the rear panel and a very short closed tear along the top edge of the rear panel. $10.00 price intact in bottom corner of front inside flap. An all-around bright copy. Uncommon in such vibrant condition. Robert Doisneau 1912-1994 was a master of humanist photography and a pioneer of photojournalism. He is known for his 1950 photograph of a couple kissing on a busy Parisian street "Le Baiser de l'hôtel de ville." In 1956 Doisneau won the Niépce Prize and in 1983 was awarded the Grand Prix National de la Photographie. He also won the Balzac Prize in 1986. Other famous works by the photographer include the 1942 photograph "Le Cheval Tombé" and "Le Violoncelliste" 1957. Simon & Schuster hardcover

A fine copy of this curious book with futuristic illustrations by the little-known Mexican artist Angel Zarraga. The book is elegantly printed as were almost all the books published by La Belle Edition and the 5 illustrations have a wonderful surreal quality which makes them all the more remarkable for their date.
