This is a very good softcover copy in the original publisher's cream colored stiff paper covers, with a color illustration by Mariette Lydis tipped on, and with the clear plastic covers and comb binding intact. Very clean inside, light spotting outside. One photo has some offsetting to the white page opposite, some slight loss of color to the photo.Text in French. This is a program, published by the French magazine, Le Jour. It was issued on the occasion of a ball at the Opera on February 6, 1934. Printed by Draeger Freres, with color drawings by Mariette Lydis, Marie Laurencin, Vertes, Alexieff and Bret Koch among others. Article by Colette on Mariette Lydis. Photographs of movie stars and actresses throughout are printed with a special process, almost like silver or metal sheets. The process is called 'papier metallise'. Stars include Marlene Dietrich, Jean Harlow, Marcelle Chantal, Dolly Davis, among others. One sheet has a textile swatch printed with a light brown woodcut by Guinhald. Advertisements throughout from Paris couture houses, and fashion accessories shops. 10" high X 9" wide. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.

Raro insieme composto da: - Una fotografia originale di Colette (ritratta con i suoi gatti) di dimensioni: 9,5 X 14,5 cm circa. Sul margine inferiore della foto vi è l'indicazione dello studio fotografico "GL Manuel frères" - una lettera Manoscritta (in una prima parte realizzata sul retro della fotografia prima citata e conclusa su carta intestata "LA TREILLE MUSCATE di Saint-Tropez - Var") con autografo dell'artista - Una seconda lettera, datata "Avril 1936", su carta intestata "IMMEUBLE MARIGNAN", in parte dattiloscritta e in parte manoscritta, anche'essa firmata Colette. Sul retro del foglio è presente, a matita, uno scritto in carattere corsivo che, si presume essere la bozza di risposta della destinataria della prima lettera di Colette. - Una busta, nella quale sono stati conservati gli scritti precedentemente citati, sulla quale è presente un indirizzo scritto a mano probabilmente dalla stessa Colette. Da una lettura di queste lettere si evince che Colette ricevette un manoscritto con la richiesta di fornire un'opinione su di esso. Il manoscritto fu invece restituito senza partiolari commenti. Questo, probabilmente (lo si evince da quanto scritto a matita sul retro della seconda lettera) suscitò notevole amarezza dell'autrice del manoscritto. Lingua del testo: francese. Stato di conservazione: la fotografia presenta qualche piccolo forellino marginale e qualche piccola abrasione superficiale (che non pregiudicano l'immagine). Il foglio intestato "La Treille Muscate" (sul quale è presente parte del primo scritto) presenta marginali strappetti e piccole mancanze causate, come per i piccoli difetti della fotografia, dal fatto che il tutto fu conservato, in passato, all'interno di una cornice (ora non più presente). RARO INSIEME DA COLLEZIONE.Da Wikipedia: "Colette, pseudonimo di Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette (Saint-Sauveur-en-Puisaye, 28 gennaio 1873 – Parigi, 3 agosto 1954), è stata una scrittrice e attrice teatrale francese, considerata fra le maggiori figure della prima metà del XX secolo. Insignita delle più importanti onorificenze accademiche, nonché Grand'Ufficiale della Legion d'onore, fu la prima donna nella storia della Repubblica Francese a ricevere funerali di stato. Colette è stata una delle grandi protagoniste della sua epoca, un mito nazionale: oltre che scrittrice prolifica fu attrice di music-hall, spesso nuda durante le sue esibizioni, autrice e critica teatrale, giornalista e caporedattrice, sceneggiatrice e critica cinematografica, estetista e commerciante di cosmetici.
