Sette volumi di cm. 25, pp. 600/700 per ciascun volueme. Con parecchie tavole incise fuori testo (anche ripiegate). Solida ed elegante legatura coeva in piena pelle bazzana, dorsi a nervi con titoli e ricchi fregi. Piatti inquadrati da triplice filetto dorato, tagli rossi e sguardie marmorizzate. Solo piccole mancanze alla cuffie dei primi tre volumi, qualche brunitura, peraltro esemplare genuino e ben conservato. Si tratta dei primi sette volumi di quest'importante fonte storica e letteraria basata su una gran quantità di manoscritti. L'analisi e la ricerca è stata condotta per una parte sui testi latini e greci, ma molta attenzione è stata posta anche ai manoscritti orientali, di cui spesso appare la rproduzione integrale.
Cm. 13,5, pp. (16) 788. Legatura strettamente coeva in piena pergamena molle con titoli manoscritti (posteriormente) al dorso. Piccoli ritocchi alla cuffia, peraltro esemplare genuino e ben conservato. Edizione originale, non comune, di quest'antica compilazione bibliografica riguardante le opere di storia, geografia e cronologia pubblicate in Europa nella seconda metà del '600. Il Beughem (1638-1710) fu libraio a Emmerich e le sue ricerche bibliografiche sono considerate fra le più interessanti del tempo.

William Beckford assisted in the compilation of this work, particularly in the description of his own library at Fonthill. The Dialogue in the Shades is a two-part pamphlet of satirical verse is a response to Dibdin's Lincolne Nosegay and the Bibliographical Decameron. The attribution varies from William Beckford to the Clarke brothers. This second edition is issued with an additional half-title, title-page with note from 'Mr. Wynkem' on the verso, and with the addition of The Diary of Roger Payne, a work in the same vein.
