200227159
New York:: Farrar Straus & Giroux 2002. First Printing of the First US Edition. A Near Fine copy with a small dent to the lower of the front board in a Fine unclipped dust jacket. Whether autobiographical topical or specifically literary these writings circle the central preoccupying questions of Seamus Heaney's career: "How should a poet properly live and write What is his relationship to be to his own voice his own place his literary heritage and the contemporary world" This collection includes Heaney's finest lectures and a rich variety of pieces not previously collected in volume form ranging from short newspaper articles to radio commentaries. In its soundings of a wide range of poets -- Irish and British American and Eastern European predecessors and contemporaries -- Finders Keepers is as its title indicates "an announcement of both excitement and possession."
Farrar, Straus, & Giroux, hardcover
199627383
New York:: Knopf 1996. First Printing of the First US Edition. A Near Fine unread copy in a Fine bright unclipped dust jacket. In this collection of essays William Gass writes about literary language about history about the avant-garde about minimalism's brief vogue about the use of the present tense in fiction Is it due to the lack of both a sense of history and a belief in the future about biography as a form about exile - spiritual and geographical - and he examines the relationship of the writer's life to the writer's work. Gass writes with wit and intelligence as he sifts through cultural issues of our time and contemplates how written language whether a sentence or an entire book is a container of consciousness the gateway to another's mind that we enter for a while and make our own.
Knopf, hardcover

199319112
Daytona Beach / Seattle The Museum of Arts and Sciences Inc. Daytona Beach in Association With University of Washington Press 1993. Signed by Chihuly with bold strokes of black paint on the front board. First edition / First printing. Orange cloth. Very fine. Issued without dust jacket.

Original edition in deep bright orange with debossed type on the front cover done for the show in Daytona Beach the book was reissued in yellow-orange cloth by the University of Washington Press and later by Portland Press both later editions also included some paint signed copies. Chihuly has reused ISBNs for many of his titles confusing the determination of which are first editions. His first book Chihuly Glass was self published in 1982. The ISBN was reused for Chihuly Baskets in 1994 published by Portland Press. Portland Press created by Chihuly in the early 1990s for publication of his own books. The University of Washington first published several titles including the First Edition of Form From Fire. Chihuly reissued Form from Fire with the same ISBN as the UW publication through Portland Press in the early 1990s. The editions are clearly identifiable by the University of Washington credit on both the title page and the CIP page which was changed to Portland Press on the later version. The dust jacket was also completely different on the Portland Press version though it is that jacket that appears when the book is searched for by ISBN.
The Museum of Arts and Sciences, Inc., Daytona Beach in Association With University of Washington Press, hardcover
