He was known as a charming frivolous and impulsive King and before the Revolution as a Count he was a close friend of Marie Antoinette. Text reads 'S.A. Royale Monsieur Charles-Philippe de France Comte d'Artois Colonel-General de Garde Nationale. Ne a Versailles le 9 Octobre 1757'. Henri Buguet a French historical and portrait painter was born at Fresne in 1761. He was a pupil of Jacques Louis David and painted in 1817 for the château of Pau 'Francis I. knighted by Bayard.' His portraits of Louis XVIII and Charles X have been engraved by Bertrand. He died in Paris about 1833. Hard to find.<br/><br/> Chez Bertrand unknown books
