First edition in book form of the most sumptuous presentation of Kitton's collection of Dickens portraits and illustrations which first appeared in serialized parts between 1889-1890. Folio two volumes bound in full buckram with morocco spine labels lettered in gilt containing 31 engraved portraits 30 engraved remarque plates 78 illustrations in the text and 67 'Additional Illustrations'. In very good condition. Frederick Kitton was one of the founders of the Dickens Fellowship and organized a celebrated exhibition of his works in 1903. His library was purchased from his widow by subscription with the aim of establishing a national Dickens library. It was transferred to Dickens House in Doughty street in 1926. Frank T. The magazine published several notable authors including E. E. Cummings T. S. Eliot Sherwood Anderson and Ezra Pound. <br/><br/>Contains "Inspector Bucket" by Charles Dickens "Sergeant Cuff" by Wilkie Collins and "Monsieur Lecoq Master-Mind" by Emile Gaboriau. The second volume in the "Great Detective Stories" series comprised of three volumes. The series is uncommon and to find editions in dust jackets is exceedingly difficult. <br/><br/>Near Fine in a Very Good plus dust jacket. Spine ends lightly bumped.
